The Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston will be Houston’s exciting new destination for performing and visual arts. Located at Main and Holman in Midtown, the MATCH will be a home for a broad spectrum of Houston’s leading and emerging arts organizations and will transform midtown into a vibrant new destination.

  • Mission

    The mission of the MATCH is to provide a home for a broad spectrum of Houston’s arts organizations, and create an accessible destination that will bring Houstonians together to enjoy art and enliven a neighborhood.

  • Business Plan

    A self-sustaining operating plan for the MATCH is in progress. Earned revenues will come from rent and public funding streams. HOT tax through Houston First and 380 agreements are being negotiated with the City of Houston. Operating fundraising will not be necessary after the facility is constructed.

  • Economic Development

    Recent studies confirm how integral the arts are to life in Houston. The Creative Economy of Houston report by the Houston Arts Alliance (2012) revealed that Houston's creative sector is growing and thriving. The Americans for the Arts’ most recent Arts & Economic Prosperity study concluded that arts and culture are a $978M
